Activities and day trips

From a boat trip to the Lavezzi islands to a Figari wine tasting, a week is not enough. Here is what we genuinely recommend.

On the water

The sea, differently

01

A boat for the day

With or without a licence, from Pinarello or Porto-Vecchio. Head for the Cerbicale islands, the coastal coves or, for early risers, the Lavezzi. Allow a full day.

02

Diving & snorkelling

The Cerbicale reserve and the drop-offs off Pointe de la Chiappa are among the finest spots in the Mediterranean. First dives from the age of 8 with the Porto-Vecchio clubs.

03

Paddleboard & sea kayak

Pinarello Bay at daybreak, when the water is glassy: the crossing to the island and its Genoese tower is a classic. Hired by the hour on the beach.

04

Lavezzi & Bonifacio excursion

A shuttle boat from Porto-Vecchio or Bonifacio: the limestone cliffs, the caves, then a swim stop in the Lavezzi archipelago. The island's most memorable outing.

In the mountains

When the sea is not enough

01

Canyoning

Purcaraccia, la Vacca, le Pulischellu: granite slides, jumps and abseils, led by qualified guides. From a family introduction to a sporting route.

02

Walks

From the Trou de la Bombe (2 h) to stages of the GR20, by way of the Piscia di Gallo waterfall in the Ospedale forest. See the Bavella page for detail.

03

Natural pools

The Cavu pools, 30 minutes from the villa, are the ideal cooling outing in August: clear water, granite slabs, pines for shade.

04

Quad bikes, buggies, mountain bikes

Several operators run guided half-day outings through the maquis and on the tracks of the hinterland.

What we book for you

We have worked with the same people for years — boat hire, canyoning guides, dive clubs, private chef. Tell us what interests you before you arrive and we will handle the introductions and the bookings, especially in August when everything goes quickly.

Frequently asked questions

Activities in practice

What can you do with children from the villa?
The natural pools of the Cavu (30 min), the beach at Santa Giulia with its shallow water, paddleboarding at Pinarello and the walk to the Trou de la Bombe from the age of 8-10. Ovu Santu beach, on foot, remains the simplest of all.
Should activities be booked in advance?
In July and August, yes: boats, canyoning and restaurant tables need booking one or two weeks ahead. We can take care of it for you before you arrive.
Can you visit the Lavezzi islands from the villa?
Yes, as a day trip: drive to Porto-Vecchio (25 min) or Bonifacio (1 h 10) and board a shuttle boat. Allow a full day, and book in high season.
Is there anything to do when it rains?
The citadel of Porto-Vecchio, the archaeological site of Cucuruzzu, the Figari wine estates and the Alta Rocca villages are all fine under a grey sky — and the villa has its spa.
